OUR BRITISH HERITAGE

A chance meeting in a London Underground station with Vivienne Westwood, a decade in Notting Hill, and an invitation to serve as a royal dresser at Kensington Palace all left a lasting imprint on the brand’s style today.

After leaving my childhood home in a small Cornish fishing port to seek my fortune in the vibrant city of London in the 1990s, I spent a decade immersed in the world of fashion, working alongside some of the industry’s most influential figures. During this time, I was involved in shows set within some of Britain’s most iconic architectural buildings – experiences that continue to influence our collections today. Alongside my work as a stylist in the fashion industry, I ran a small business buying and selling couture, vintage clothing, and rare retro homeware, trading primarily at Portobello Market and throughout Notting Hill.

There, I built a loyal client base of influential figures within the fashion world. With the support of The Prince’s Trust, who awarded me a £3,000 start-up grant, and guidance from industry mentors, I was able to transform this early venture into something far more meaningful – a journey that would, in time, lead to Oscar & Patch.

The brand grew from my passion for nostalgic English country house style. With a passion for vintage prints and nostalgic aesthetics. After struggling to find homeware that balanced charm and sophistication – playful enough for children, yet refined for adults – I began designing my own pieces. From this need, Oscar & Patch was born: a collection of thoughtfully designed, modern-vintage pieces for family life.

Charming Cottage Exterior

A ready-to-wear collection for child soon followed, inspired by my love of vintage children’s clothing and rooted in generations of family tradition. The first design, a knitted piece for my son Oscar, was crafted in Cornwall by his grandmother.

This is also the story of a Cornish boy and his dog. The name 'Oscar & Patch' comes from my first-born son, Oscar, and his faithful dog, Patch. Together they remain our muses and brand mascots, always close to our hearts – an emblem of our English home.First whispered across the Cornish countryside, the name was often repeated: “Ah yes, Oscar & Patch.” And so, it stayed. From Land’s End to New York and even a little British prince – the story has quietly travelled. Today, we invite you to share in it. Welcome to our family.
