L'ATELIER
Behind each Oscar & Patch piece is a team of expertly talented designers at the Devon atelier, once home to the famous Jaeger® factory. We have taken the time to ensure every detail is of the highest quality design and fabrication.
The Oscar & Patch Workshop, nestled at 237 Union Street, Plymouth, England, is an integral part of both our brand and the city’s textile heritage. Established in the early 20th century, the building was once home to the iconic British fashion house Jaeger® and its clothing factory. It employs 250 local craftspeople and gained national recognition when Her Royal Highness Princess Anne visited in 1983.
Following its closure in 1998, the site was thoughtfully revitalised – blending its historic legacy with modern innovation – and today it proudly houses our brand, Oscar & Patch.
Within this spacious workshop, seamstresses gather around large cutting tables, meticulously working on patterns and construction. Our Children’s and Women’s Collection studios collaborate closely with them, presenting sketches and refining the first garments produced.
Following the tradition of the great fashion houses, Oscar has developed a creation and production process rooted in collaboration. Stylists, designers, pattern makers, and cutters work hand in hand with our studios to bring each sketch to life. Every piece is crafted with precision and care — a true celebration of British master craftsmanship in luxury fashion for children.
“We make certain that everything we design and make is easy to care for and wonderfully durable”
DESIGN ARCHIVES
"TODAY we DRAW from THE
BREADTH OF ARCHIVES to
SHAPE each NEW DESIGN."
Today, authentic and original detailing remains at the heart of our design. We celebrate the beautiful contradictions of a truly British identity, drawing inspiration from our treasured archives of the 18th and 19th centuries, through the expressive spirit of the 1960s and 70s, to the present day. These influences sit alongside the richness of British tradition - reinterpreted through a fresh and considered perspective.
Our collections blend vintage charm with a modern sensibility, creating pieces that feel both nostalgic and relevant.
With a nod to the past and an eye on the future, we remain true to our founding principles: crafting garments of the highest quality, imbued with quiet elegance. Each collection is created with integrity, personality, and sophistication – defined by timeless design, traditional craftsmanship, and authentic British style.

BRITISH DESIGN
"WE understand THE NEED for LOW IMPACT BRITISH clothing, WITH TRACEABILITY "
The core of our ready-to-wear collections is crafted by some of Britain’s finest skilled seamstresses and craftswomen. Each piece is more than an article of clothing - it is decades of craftsmanship and artistry brought together to create not simply garments, but a way of living. A lifelong appreciation for quality begins in childhood, and for over 16 years, Oscar & Patch has been a quiet host of inspiration.
The process begins in the creative studio, where Oscar & Patch’s Artistic Director, Lisa Baker, conceives and sketches each seasonal collection. These initial drawings are then passed to the workshop, where the gentle rhythm of sewing machines and the brand’s distinctive signature prints bring the designs to life.
