A chance meeting with Vivienne Westwood in a London Underground station, more than a decade spent in Notting Hill buying and selling vintage apparel and homeware, and an invitation to serve as a royal dresser at Kensington Palace have each left a lasting imprint on the brand’s distinctive style.
From humble beginnings in Notting Hill, West London, to the cathedral city of Truro, Cornwall, Oscar & Patch® has grown to grace elegant homes and families around the world with its distinctly British style. Named for my Cornish son, Oscar, and his faithful friend, Patch, it embodies family, heritage, and the beauty of what is passed down. Today, we are an independently owned British luxury brand, inspired by a modern vintage aesthetic. Our collections span childrenswear, womenswear, homeware, and interiors, bringing a refined, contemporary edge to the timeless balance between town and country. From Cornwall to New York, and even to a British prince, Oscar & Patch has quietly found its place in some of the world’s most beautiful homes.
As founder and creative director of Oscar & Patch, I draw upon a career spanning interiors, fashion, and styling. From studying fashion media in London, then earning my honours degree in architectural interior design at Arts University Plymouth, to leading my own practice, Lisa Baker Design Studio, to working under the late Vivienne Westwood and collaborating with luxury fashion houses, royalty, and global icons, each chapter has helped shape the brand’s distinctive point of view. My signature aesthetic combines timeless British heritage with a modern sense of refinement.

After leaving my childhood home in a small Cornish fishing port to seek my fortune in the vibrant city of London in the 1990s, I spent a decade immersed in the world of fashion, working alongside some of the industry’s most influential figures. During this time, I was involved in shows set within some of Britain’s most iconic architectural buildings – experiences that continue to influence our collections today. Alongside my work as a stylist in the fashion industry, I ran a small business buying and selling couture, vintage clothing, and rare retro homeware, trading primarily at Portobello Market and throughout Notting Hill.
There, I built a loyal client base of influential figures within the fashion world. With the support of The Prince’s Trust, which awarded me a £3,000 start-up grant, and guidance from industry mentors, I was able to transform this early venture into something far more meaningful – a journey that would, in time, lead to Oscar & Patch.
“As a proud British designer, my team and I celebrate the craftsmanship for which Britain was once the envy of the world. We partner with celebrated British manufacturers, many holding Royal Warrants, to create collections defined by care, authenticity, and attention to detail-capturing the subversion and eccentricity of great British style for a global community.”

As a designer and stylist, I have always loved childrenswear and interiors, long before I had children of my own. I felt there was a gap between mass-produced children's products and overly decorative pieces that often lacked practicality, longevity, and the ability to be passed on for modern family life. I founded Oscar & Patch to create timeless pieces that move effortlessly from a child's room into the wider home and become future heirlooms. Our collections are crafted with a distinctive British style, inspired by the great English practitioners of the 18th and 19th centuries and the bold flair of the 1960s and 1970s.
While we cherish historic designs from every era, each collection is infused with a fresh, modern sensibility. An intuitive use of colour, pattern and classic detail is balanced with contemporary elements, creating pieces that are both beautiful and useful. Rooted in the serenity of Cornwall and Devon and shaped by the energy of London, Oscar & Patch embodies a unique style that sits between town and country – blending tradition and modernity with a quiet, enduring elegance.

A ready-to-wear collection soon followed, which was inevitable given my love and background in fashion. I aimed to create a distinctive, modern-vintage style- luxurious yet understated, beautiful but practical. We push the boundaries of what’s expected in children’s wear. Inspired by classic British refinement, we balance timeless elegance with a relaxed English spirit. Vintage pieces inspire us, reinterpreted for today. Each piece is functional, timeless, and crafted from beautiful fabrics in contemporary hues.
Over the years, we have been fortunate to achieve several significant milestones, including support from The Prince’s Trust, the ERDF, Creative England, and the “She Started It” BIPC Grant. We were also honoured to receive Theo Paphitis’ #SBS (Small Business Sunday) award and delighted to have our childrenswear recognised by Carole Middleton, mother to Catherine, Princess of Wales.
