 OUR  BRITISH  HERITAGE

For the Oscar & Patch family, work and home life have always been intertwined. Since our beginnings in Cornwall, England in 2008, the realisation of our dream has been limited only by imagination

Building on centuries of family tradition, with craft and yarn at the heart of our story, Oscar & Patch is founded on a legacy of making. These traditions form the foundation of our collections and remain at the beating heart of our fibre development. From childhood fantasies to daydreams, each creation draws on our family heritage, combined with the richness of British design.

Today, those original details endure in every design. A constant pursuit of beautiful materials and the preservation of exceptional know-how allow us to create objects that are both useful and elegant, pieces made to stand the test of time. It is this union of heritage, imagination, and craftsmanship that forges the uniqueness of Oscar & Patch.

“We didn’t realize we were making memories, we just knew we were having fun,.”

THE ORIGINS

"OUR  roots  ARE   in  CORNWALL   ENGLAND  with, WITH THE FIRST DESIGNS being BLANKETS "

Founded in 2008, Oscar & Patch began with a single design – a vintage-inspired blanket. Crafted in Cornwall for her son by her mother, this first piece marked the beginning of a collection rooted in sentiment, craftsmanship and time-honoured design for both child and mother. From that original blanket, the world of Oscar & Patch evolved to encompass vintage-inspired childrenswear, womenswear and homeware. Timeless design and traditional quality remain the defining threads running through everything we create

Our heritage is quintessentially British, inspired by Cornish roots and the traditional Guernsey knit frocks of the 1800s - garments made with purpose, beauty and longevity in mind.

OUR ROOTS

"WE carefully SOURCED the SOFTEST yarns FROM ACROSS GREAT BRITAIN and EUROPE.”

Today, this lineage continues through the Oscar & Patch family – woven with influences from English nautical life and classic British design. From this meeting of past and present emerges our unmistakable aesthetic: Le Style Anglais-an English style that underpins our brand. From the very beginning, it felt essential to design pieces that are not only beautiful and useful, but also practical – made to be loved every day and cared for with ease.

With this in mind, we travelled the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and Europe in search of the finest, softest yarns with true provenance. After many years, we discovered the perfect yarn for our collections. Our knitwear is crafted in the softest ecru cashmerino wool, elevated with centuries-old Cornish gansey stitches. The result is a collection rooted in heritage yet designed for modern family living – timeless pieces made to be worn, treasured and passed on.

Designed by our in-house team, each piece is entrusted to our petites mains, where it is brought to life with exceptional care and craftsmanship.

NAMESAK

"THIS is ALSO  THE  story  OF A  Cornish BOY AND HIS DOG, SYNONYMOUS WITH great BRITISH DESIGN"

The name Oscar & Patch comes from our founder’s first-born son, Oscar, and his faithful dog, Patch. Together they remain our muses and brand mascots, always close to our hearts. This charming, instantly recognisable emblem speaks to the very origins of our English house.

According to legend, the name Oscar & Patch was first whispered across the Cornish countryside. Locals, captivated by Oscar’s proper yet eclectic English look and Patch loyally by his side, would often ask for their names. With a smile, the founder would reply, “This is Oscar, and this is Patch.” The response was always the same: “Ah yes, Oscar & Patch.” And so, the name was born.

From private customers in Land’s End to New York—and even, once upon a time, a little prince—the story of Oscar & Patch has quietly travelled. Today, we invite the world to share in it too. Welcome to our family.
