Lisa Baker is the creative director and founder of Oscar & Patch and the lead interior designer at her own practice, Lisa Baker Design Studio. Her path to design was unconventional, beginning with fashion media studies in London before embarking on a career in the fashion industry as a stylist and later completing her bachelor’s degree in architectural interior design and styling.
A chance encounter with the late Dame Vivienne Westwood set her on a journey that led to collaborations with some of Britain’s most distinguished fashion houses, international luxury brands, members of the Royal Family, and prominent public figures. Her years as a stylist for leading names in fashion deepened her passion for design and heritage craft, while her love of nostalgia and history, drawing on the great English practitioners and ateliers, continues to shape the timeless aesthetic that defines Oscar & Patch.
Although invited to serve as a royal dresser at Kensington Palace, Lisa chose to follow her own creative path. After more than a decade living and working in London and Paris, she returned to her West Country roots while expecting her first child, Oscar, the inspiration behind the brand. Every Oscar & Patch collection reflects Lisa’s signature English sensibility: eclectic yet refined, steeped in heritage yet quietly modern, and always, unmistakably British.

Founded in 2008, Oscar & Patch began with a single design, a vintage-inspired blanket, its pattern passed down through three generations of the founder’s family, crafted in Cornwall for her son. From this first piece, the collection grew to include vintage-inspired homeware, childrenswear, and womenswear. The hallmarks of every Oscar & Patch collection, timeless design and traditional quality, are threads that run through everything we design and create.
Our heritage is quintessentially British. Early inspiration was drawn from our Cornish roots and the traditional Guernsey knit frocks of the 1800s. Today, this rich tradition continues through the Oscar & Patch family, woven together with styles rooted in English nautical pursuits and classic British design. From this, our utterly individual aesthetic emerged, affectionately dubbed “Le Style Anglais”.
The idea still inspires us today. Between town and country, between Cornwall's and Devon's serenity and London’s energy. Oscar & Patch unites authentic, age-honoured craft with a modern edge. Heritage meets quiet rebellion; rules are reimagined to create something beautiful, new and truly unique.

The name Oscar & Patch comes from our founder’s first-born son, Oscar, and his faithful dog, Patch. Together they remain our muses and brand mascots, always close to our hearts. This charming, instantly recognisable emblem speaks to the very origins of our English house.
According to legend, the name Oscar & Patch was first whispered across the Cornish countryside. Locals, captivated by Oscar’s proper yet eclectic English look and Patch loyally by his side, would often ask for their names. With a smile, the founder would reply, “This is Oscar, and this is Patch.” The response was always the same: “Ah yes, Oscar & Patch.” And so, the name was born.
From private customers in Land’s End to New York—and even, once upon a time, a little prince—the story of Oscar & Patch has quietly travelled. Today, we invite the world to share in it too. Welcome to our family.
